Our Historic Journey

From a small association of young enthusiasts to a nationwide network of creators.

Creation of AJCT

1962

Founded under the name Association des Jeunes Cinéastes Tunisiens (AJCT), creating a space for youth to explore filmmaking before the first Tunisian feature film even existed.

Birth of FIFAK

1964

The first edition of the International Amateur Film Festival of Kélibia is launched, becoming the oldest cinematic event in Africa and the Arab world.

Formation of FTCA

1968

The various AJCT clubs merged to officially form the Fédération Tunisienne des Cinéastes Amateurs, structuring a nationwide militant cinematic movement.

Modern Era

Today

Continuing to serve as a vital incubator for Tunisian filmmakers, preserving a rich audiovisual archive, and maintaining dozens of active clubs nationwide.
